Lately I've been into some sneaky business. I really feel sad about not having a garden. Well not so sad. But sad enough that I have been secretly planting seeds around the neighborhood. Just small spots of land that other people are clearly not using. Alex thinks this is extremely funny. He says it's like I'm a secret vandal only I'm not vandalizing I'm just gardening. AnnDee thinks it's a little crazy and that I am crazy. But what I really want a garden.

I love it. But do you go back and water them? My favorite was when Clayre and Parly planted a seed in the back yard then a few days later a weed started growing nearby...they thought it was their plant growing. Funny!
I think this "vandalization" is a lovely thing. Seriously, how awesome would it be to have a patch of dirt you haven't got around to doing anything with suddenly sprout some greenery or flowers? Like a miracle.
Come on! Just approve my comments. What did I say wrong?
Sunflowers are great to do this with..because they get so tall and crazy..and obvious!...Then when they bloom people are confused as to how they got there.
ah, guerrilla gardening, have you heard of the artist keri smith? That is where I first heard about this. She didn't originate the idea, but she wrote a book called The Guerilla Art Kit filled with things like this. She had a recipe for "seed bombs" that you make and carry and throw anywhere and then plants will grow there unattended.
And I guess while I'm at it, I'll leave a plug for a project my friend Rosa started, Found Art Tuesday: http://rosamurillo.squarespace.com/found-art-tuesdays/
It was inspired by street art, guerrilla art, keri smith, pay-it-forward, and Random Acts of Kindness. Leave artwork out for other's to find, it's fun :)
